Motivation Quotation......

Aku meminta kepada Tuhan setangkai bunga, segar, Ia beri kaktus berduri. Aku minta kupu-kupu diberinya-Nya ulat berbulu.

Their culture is not my culture......

Last week(1st and 2nd July), I got opportunity attend 3rd Digital Culture under ISOS,SBS at CUBE,Manchester....

Again, in that workshop where I'm the only one Malaysian and I met few new faces and ISOS academicians and phd students but what I'm trying to share is some of their research is not met my culture as Malays....I just listen and think deeply that their culture allowed them doing the weird research(this is my opinion) and if their research are presented in Asia or Malaysia spesifically, off course they will banned by their organizer. But, that is the unique experience that I think, I will never get in other workshop.....

From 13 presentation includes keynote speakers, they 'weird' and not 'halal' research for me are:
'Grindr:immoderation vs sin in the global virtual gay bar'- tentang gay
'Grabbing by the eyeballs;affective intensities of online porn'- tentang dot dot dot
'Multiplicity, congruity and the development of e-gambling commerce in the UK'- tentang perjudian
'Missing cultures across video games:queers, gaymers and the terms of their inclusion'-tentang permainan internet gay

the rest research presentation are alright and some of them have some same aspects within my research......
-managing the multiplies;understanding the power of google
-was it an internet election.....again
-multiple space and discontinuities as transformative tools
-mobility,personal learning environments and the use of space in higher education \/
-growing up in a virtual world:girls, identity and facebook \/
-and why would I participate?'a framework of value exchange and roles in digitally engaged communities \/
-football social media:playing the game, but where is the trust?
-photobombs:capturing and/or resisting everyday life
-'we die for the glory of the emperor' young people and 'playing' at war in on-line role playing games
'

Even I just present poster....'struggle' to attend it....thanks my dear spouse for the support through sent and invite me from the conference venue which is almost 1 hour from home...since I'm quite lazy to take train due to my 'health' condition...........

@Edge Hill University today-16 June 2010.............

Share some pictures...no more my faces because I do not have any 'well-known' friends in that conference and majority of them are 'white people' and I'm the only one as Malaysian, even I'm not the winner for poster presenter but I'm proud because two out of three winners for poster category are Muslim Pakistani Briton participants-congrats to Miss Sabina Shah and Miss Latifa Patell;besides that, all the six winners for spoken presentation are from 'white people' and majority of them are from part-time PhD researcher BUT they're full time academicians...and..... it was nice conference within valuable workshops(Speed Reading and Project Managament-actually it consists of parallel workshop)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!furthermore, I also got a few academic networking person esp one of them are just finished the viva....Dr Susan Graves...

located at Ormskirk, Lancashire(between Liverpool and Manchester)

keynote speaker-Dr Mark Llewellyn from Liverpool University give his speech about 'The value of PhD'; I like his hair..woman likely.....
One of the poster winner ; Miss Sabina Shah...

Supposedly....

Supposedly I fly yesterday with all my family to Veszprem,Hungary for presenting the paper in 5th KMO, but since my flight was cancelled due on volcanic ash effects where it just only inaccurate prediction.

I felt so annoying, irritating and discontented since I could not make it to disseminate my research findings. To buy new ticket is damnly expensive and my weaknesses is I cannot leave apart with my family. Why???because they are my strength without them, I could not achieve what I have been achived until today.Furthermore, it is very expensive fare already.
Even I try my best to avoid all the mixed feeling within went to retail theraphy few hours ago, but unwanted the feelings is too stubborn and I realise my attitude itself makes more complicated.

Hopefully my sv and the organizer will forgive me..not my fault at all....

Wednesday, May 05, 2010

Only 45 presenters???.....

Finally what I've been waiting for answered today...
Hopefully I can manage it.....another knowledge dissemenation....

Hopefully I can go through my second gate next week.......my nervous is up and down now......
Hopefully ash volcano issue will settled this week..no more chaos or stranded..inshaallah....
Hopefully I can meet Dr Rosmaini Tasnim from Malaysia.....
